Professional Experience
Currently adjunct professor and studio Technician at the University of Central Oklahoma. 2005-2008.
Re-organized and improved Art Department studios, including the installation and upkeep of new large electric and gas kilns for Ceramics, Glass Kilns for Sculpture, helped to re-design and rebuild the darkroom, as well as installing new technology in all studios and classrooms.
Teaching 3D Design, Sculpture I,II,III and Studio Sculpture.
Helped to establish an organized and cohesive sculpture program that progressed from 3-D Design into Sculpture, Ceramics and Metal-smithing.
Served on the Exhibition Committee
Chief Preparator for The Kirkpatrick’s African Art Collection Exhibition at the Max Chambers Library, Edmond Oklahoma, 2008.
Sept., 2005-Dec, 2008, Adjunct Professor of Sculpture, University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond Oklahoma. Teaching responsibilities include:
3D Design Students learn the basics of three-dimensional design. This includes the transition from 2D to 3D, spatial awareness, art historical relevance and an introduction to sculptural materials.
Sculpture I Students are introduced to woodworking, carving, metalworking and installation practices. Each project is accompanied with extensive research and an artist statement.
Sculpture II: Students expand upon the work introduced in Sculpture I. This includes more complicated wood and metal work, kinetic sculpture and installation. Students must write proposals for projects and apply for art competitions.
Studio Sculpture Students begin to focus on a body of sculptural work, which will be exhibited in their Senior Thesis exhibition. They must write professional artist statements as well as grant like proposals for each project. Extensive material and contemporary art research is required.
