Bio

Russell Bellamy is an artist originally from Lexington, Kentucky.  He attended Georgetown College where he began to study Fine Arts.  In 2005 he received his MFA with a focus on Sculpture from the University of Cincinnati.  Since his graduation his work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. He is currently teaching Sculpture at the University of Central Oklahoma.

His work deals with contradictions of form and material.  These often take the organic forms of plants and animals and create them with synthetic materials such as rubbers and plastics.  These are then constructed in an industrial repetitious fashion.  These contradictions are reminiscent of a childhood spent working on farms and in factories.
